New Feature Allows Users to Mark All Chats as Read

WhatsApp is now testing a highly anticipated feature that allows Android users to mark all chats as read at once. The feature, which has been in development for months, was previously unavailable to beta testers. However, the latest beta update for Android has made it accessible to several testers, signaling progress in its rollout. Along with this, WhatsApp’s recent updates include the ability to block messages from unknown accounts and other theming improvements still under development.

Beta Rollout and Future Availability

First spotted by WABetaInfo, the ‘Read All’ feature enhances chat management by allowing users to clear their unread message count quickly. This can be done through the overflow menu, accessible by tapping the three-dot menu in the app. The feature is available in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.20.19 and is expected to be released to all users in future updates. While Android beta testers can currently enjoy this function, iOS users may need to wait a bit longer. It remains uncertain if this feature will make it to the stable version of WhatsApp, but its presence in beta suggests a wider release is on the horizon.
