Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition Tipped to Feature S Pen Support

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to release a new addition to its foldable smartphone lineup — the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. According to leaks from well-known tipsters Ice Universe and Ross Young, this upcoming model will feature S Pen support, a highly anticipated addition that contradicts earlier rumors suggesting otherwise. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is expected to be a slimmer and more affordable alternative to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was launched in July during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event.

Key Differences Between Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Special Edition

While the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 also supports the S Pen Stylus, the accessory is not included in the package, leaving users to purchase it separately. The upcoming Special Edition, however, could integrate S Pen support in a unique way, as Samsung is rumored to eliminate the digitizer in the device to reduce its thickness and cost. This design choice is aimed at offering a more streamlined experience, although it’s unclear how the S Pen functionality will be preserved without the digitizer.

Rumoured Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is speculated to debut on September 25 in South Korea, with a limited production run of only 4 to 5 lakh units. Leaks suggest that the device will boast an 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external display, larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch displays, respectively. Additionally, the Special Edition may feature a 200-megapixel main rear camera and a folded thickness of 10.6mm, making it a slimmer option compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 12.1mm thickness.
