Samsung is set to unveil its latest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, in January next year, alongside the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+. Although the official launch is still months away, a recent leak has provided an early glimpse into the potential design changes for the upcoming device. According to a prominent tipster, Ice Universe, an early mockup of the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggests a significant design shift from its predecessor, particularly in the form of rounded corners and flat sides.

Rounded Corners for Enhanced Ergonomics

The early mockup, shared by Ice Universe on X, highlights the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s new design approach. Unlike the current generation, which features sharper edges, the S25 Ultra appears to embrace more rounded corners. This design change is expected to enhance the ergonomics of the device, making it more comfortable to hold. The mockup also shows the phone with a centrally located hole punch cutout for the front camera, slim bezels, and the inclusion of an S-Pen, continuing Samsung’s tradition of providing a versatile stylus with its Ultra models.

Comparisons with Rivals and Predecessors

The tipster went further by posting side-by-side images of the alleged Galaxy S25 Ultra, comparing it with the unannounced iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The comparison highlights the rounded edges of the upcoming phone, which, while a minor change, could significantly impact the device’s overall aesthetic. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature a flat front and back, contributing to a sleek and modern design. Additionally, the tipster claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a narrower body and a wider screen compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, making it distinct from its predecessor.

Rumoured Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

In terms of specifications, early reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be a powerhouse, likely packing 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The device is also expected to feature an updated quad rear camera setup, including a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom. Additionally, the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto sensors might receive upgrades with 50-megapixel lenses. Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, supported by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging capabilities.

As anticipation builds for the official reveal, these early insights suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could bring significant design and performance enhancements, setting a new standard for flagship smartphones.
