Noise Buds N1 Pro : Affordably priced, bass-heavy TWS with a respectable battery life

The Noise Buds N1 Pro promises to offer a combination of stylish design and reliable battery life at an affordable price. Priced at Rs. 1,799, these true wireless earbuds come equipped with several features such as 11mm drivers, active noise cancellation (ANC), and Noise’s Instacharge technology. But are these enough to make the Noise Buds N1 Pro stand out in the competitive budget TWS market? Let’s dive into the details.

Design and Features: Compact and Stylish

The Noise Buds N1 Pro are available in a variety of Chrome finishes, including Green, Purple, Beige, and Black. These color options, particularly the Chrome Green and Purple, give the earbuds a premium and trendy look. The charging case is compact, lightweight (weighing 39g with the case), and has a metallic finish, though made of plastic. It fits neatly in pockets and is lightweight.. The earbuds themselves feature a wedge-like stem with a mix of glossy and matte textures, offering a comfortable fit with their silicone tips.

These earbuds are also equipped with IPX5 water and dust resistance, making them suitable for workouts or outdoor use. However, the overall design feels a bit underwhelming compared to competitors like the Redmi Buds 5C, especially when factoring in the plastic build.

Performance: Bass-Heavy Sound

In terms of sound, the Noise Buds N1 Pro are perfect for bass lovers. With 11mm drivers, the sound signature leans heavily towards bass, making tracks like Nucleya’s “Bass Rani” shine with powerful beats. However, the mids and highs tend to get overpowered, which can be a drawback when listening to more balanced tracks like “Hotel California.” Listening at full volume introduces distortion, so keeping it between 60 to 70 percent yields the best results.

Active noise cancellation (ANC) up to 32dB is decent for reducing background noise in indoor environments. It effectively blocks out sounds like fans and air conditioners, though it struggles in noisier settings. The quad-mic setup for Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) works well for calls in quieter environments but isn’t as effective in noisy surroundings.

Battery Life: Impressive Longevity

Battery life is one of the key strengths of the Noise Buds N1 Pro. The company claims up to 60 hours of total playback with the charging case. In real-world testing, the earbuds delivered close to 40 hours of playback with moderate use, while each earbud lasted 5 to 6 hours on a single charge. Charging is quick, with the earbuds going from 0 to 100 percent in under two hours thanks to the USB Type-C port.

While the battery performance is excellent, the connectivity could use improvement. Pairing the buds with devices, especially on initial setup, is inconsistent and often requires multiple attempts. This can be frustrating, particularly if you switch between devices frequently.

Verdict: A Mixed Bag

The Noise Buds N1 Pro delivers a solid bass-heavy performance and excellent battery life at an affordable price point. The design is sleek and lightweight, making them easy to carry and comfortable to wear. However, the overpowering bass, connectivity issues, and lack of a companion app for customization hold the product back. For bass enthusiasts, these TWS earbuds are a great option, but they face tough competition from alternatives like the Redmi Buds 5C and Honor Choice Earbuds X5.
