Honor 200 Pro : Honourable Yet Expensive Camera Phone

The Honor 200 Pro arrives with promising features, including top-tier cameras aimed at the premium segment. But can it live up to its hefty price tag of Rs 57,999? Let’s find out.

Design: Premium Look, But Slippery

The Honor 200 Pro offers a sleek design with a wavy texture finish that resembles natural coastlines. Available in Black and Ocean Cyan, the latter’s smooth finish gives it a soothing look but makes the phone quite slippery. At 8.2mm thick and weighing 199 grams, it feels comfortable to hold. However, with only an IP65 rating, its water resistance falls short compared to similarly priced competitors offering better protection.

Display: Bright and Vivid

The Honor 200 Pro sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate. With HDR10+ support and 4,000 nits peak brightness, the screen delivers bright, colorful visuals, making it ideal for streaming content. Despite the vibrant display, the lack of protective Corning glass leaves the screen vulnerable to scratches, requiring users to invest in a screen protector.

Camera: The Standout Feature

The Honor 200 Pro shines with its 50MP OmniVision primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP portrait sensor. The camera’s portrait photography, enhanced by Honor’s collaboration with Studio Harcourt, delivers studio-quality shots. However, the ultra-wide camera is inconsistent, and distortion at the edges detracts from its overall performance. Low-light photography is impressive, especially with the main sensor, but the ultra-wide struggles in dim settings.

Battery: Impressive, But Charger Not Included

The phone’s 5,200mAh battery offers solid performance, lasting up to two days with moderate use. It supports 100W fast charging, but disappointingly, no charger is included in the box. Wireless charging is supported at 66W, but Honor does not currently offer a compatible wireless charger in India.

In conclusion, the Honor 200 Pro impresses with its design and camera capabilities, but its high price and lack of key accessories may deter some buyers.
